MARATHON LYRICS - Home Is Where The Van Is

MARATHON LYRICS

"Home Is Where The Van Is"

Everywhere I go, I'm home 'cause everywhere has streets

How 'bout a motivational speech

I don't think this is what they meant by

"most likely to succeed"

Yeah, that me

I'm not the one who builds a nest in the suburbs

It's not my style to swim the urban scene

I live quite comfortably

At a constant velocity

Con't stop this sneezing

I think my allergy is to these dusty stagnant feet

It's time to make my move now before redundancy owns me

Everyone rocks one of two kinds of inertia

One is electric and the other is stone

If you see my mom,

Please don't tell her I don't have a home

Just tell her I'm a lightning bolt

Location: Van down by the creek

Accommodations: a waterbed of gasoline

Reservations: I make them as I please

always a vacancy

MXPX LYRICS - You Walk, I Run

MXPX LYRICS

"You Walk, I Run"

i've been running for so long for all these years

theres not much point in holding back the tears

and now the tears fall right out of my face

i've forgotten what i'm running for [2x]

maybe i'm running in place, running in place

seems like it's all been said a million times before

seems like i've already been through the door

why am i always running at this base

i've forgotten what i'm running for [2x]

maybe i'm running in place, running in place

you walk, i run

you walk, i run

i don't even think about it

you walk, i run

you walk, i run

i don't even think about it

you walk, i run

you walk, i run

i don't even think about it

you walk, i run

you walk, i run [2x]

DEAD POETIC LYRICS - Four Wall Blackmail

DEAD POETIC LYRICS

"Four Wall Blackmail"

These four walls have seen the worst of me.

They're bleeding confession, but they'll never speak.

These four walls have seen the life I truly lead.

They're crying depression. They're weak in the knees.

Right on the floor.

Please walls, stay quiet

Reputation is on the line.

Please God, stay quiet.

Don't let them know you're watching me die.

Falling down.

The waves are crashing in on me again.

Falling down.

The walls are closing in on me again.

Falling down.

The waves are crashing in on me again.

Falling down.

I feel the weight, I feel the weight again.

And If you open up your heart you'll see

I'm only human. Let me be me.

And if you could open up your heart you'll see

This wasn't my intent. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Right on the floor.

Please walls, stay quiet

Reputation is on the line.

Please God, stay quiet.

Don't let them know you're watching me die.

Falling down.

The waves are crashing over me again.

Falling down.

The walls are closing in on me again.

Falling down.

The waves are crashing in on me again.

Falling down.

I feel the weight, I feel the weight again.

Right on the floor.

BOMBS OVER PROVIDENCE LYRICS - Black Friar's Union Of Thursday Night Anarchists

BOMBS OVER PROVIDENCE LYRICS

"Black Friar's Union Of Thursday Night Anarchists"

I awoke so invincible the state indivisible hasn't had the chance to finish me yet.

The force of law notwithstanding moans, groans and the sting of student loans.

I hit the ground running,

with subsidized funding laughing at the irony of the pub

where we'll dine on the hands that feed,

and pay the check by need according to ability.

Presumed dead by the Kings on whom we've fed,

smile quiet when we lift their wallets.

Somewhere there's a tanker named Condoleeza carving out its meager existence,

leaking out crude to the oceans, washing up on the banks just to trickle down.

Tired and half-dead, walking in half-steps, shuffling home in the snow,

we'll throw a short breath to the matron saint

of the kids who wait and sitting on armed hands.

Hey, what's that you say?

No one's listening anyway?

So let's just buy another round, get the platform down, and move the shadow cabinet along.

What we do precedes our voice, we're not making any noise.

So have your mouth concealed and keep your eyes peeled for a rock that'll do the same.

This ain't no hit parade.

And it's not a mess we've made.

Nevermind what we'll do tomorrow night.

Because where we come from it's called "playing dumb",

it'll get you what you need till your boss' back's turned.

We'll drink from noon till nightmare.

This self immolation, part of our recreation, adheres to our functional paradigm.

No better way to spot a comrade; we rely on Vino Veritas.

Back at the homestead, loaded and well-fed,

we'll yearn for a greater sustenance:

fights till light about laws and rights out of sight

and what we'll do when the fires smolder.

This doesn't look like Grub St.

Where's my Cafe Voltaire?

I never read it this way, subversion isn't the same.

Here's to accounting for inherent failure.

Raise your glass to black masks.

Pay respects to efforts past.

Without danger, we ask, what merits the task of protecting dead, dry, blue eyes?

One more round for the broken-hearted.

Called a movement and it barely started.

We're what dissent is about.

We might scream and lash out.

But not until we've sung our Pict Song.

CHRON GEN LYRICS - Lies

CHRON GEN LYRICS

"Lies"

Eyes wide mouth dry I'm so high

never think I'm gonna die

I'm just flying like a kite

up all day and up all night, all night

Next day I'm so full of surprise

last night told so many lies

it's just reality in disguise

I've fallen for those awful lies, those lies

See me now I wanna cry

reality can't keep me high

I just can't handle a normal life

I wanna die give me a knife, a knife

Tell me what it's all about

it's all about getting out

I'm in a cage inside my brain

Give me the key, I wanna speed again

FRANK TURNER LYRICS - The Ballad Of Me And My Friends

FRANK TURNER LYRICS

"The Ballad Of Me And My Friends"

Everybody’s got themselves a plan,

Everybody thinks they’ll be the man, including the girls.

The musicians who lack the friends to form a band are singer-songwriters,

The rest of us are DJ’s or official club photographers.

And tonight I’m playing another Nambucca show,

So I’m going through my phonebook, texting everyone I know,

And I quite a few I don’t, whose numbers found their way into my phone,

But they might come along anyway, you never really know.

None of this is going anywhere –

Pretty soon we’ll all be old,

And no one left alive will really care

About our glory days, when we sold our souls.

But if you’re all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.

We’re going nowhere slowly, but we’re seeing all the sights.

And we’re definitely going to hell,

But we’ll have all the best stories to tell.

ME FIRST & THE GIMME GIMMES LYRICS - Sunday Morning Coming Down

ME FIRST & THE GIMME GIMMES LYRICS

"Sunday Morning Coming Down"

Originally by Johnny Cash/Kris Kristofferson

Well I woke up Sunday morning,

With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt

And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,

So I had one more for dessert

Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes,

And found my cleanest dirty shirt

An' I washed my face and combed my hair,

Stumbled down the stairs to meet the day

I'd smoked my mind the night before,

With cigarettes and songs that I'd been pickin'

But I lit my first and watched a small kid,

Playing with a can that he was kicking

And I walked across the street,

'n caught the Sunday smell of someone's fried chicken

And it took me back to somethin',

That I'd lost somewhere, somehow along the way

On the Sunday morning sidewalk,

Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned.

'Cos there's something in a Sunday,

That makes a body feel alone.

And there's nothin' short of dyin',

Half as lonesome as the sound,

On the sleepin' city sidewalks:

Sunday mornin' comin' down

In the park I saw a daddy,

With a laughin' little girl that he was swingin'

And I stopped behind a Sunday school,

And listened to the songs that they were singin'

I headed down the street,

And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'

And it echoed through the canyons,

Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday

On the Sunday morning sidewalk,

I'm Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned

'Cos there's something in a Sunday,

That makes a body feel alone

And there's nothin' short of dyin',

Half as lonesome as the sound,

On the sleepin' city sidewalk:

Sunday mornin' comin' down

On the sleepin' city sidewalk:

Sunday mornin' comin' down
